American Councils has operated in the Kyrgyz Republic since 1994. Our office is located in the capital city of Bishkek, full of wide boulevards lined with leafy green trees and marble-faced public buildings. There are also numerous Soviet-style apartment blocks positioned around interior courtyards. Situated at the foot of the Tian Shan mountain range, the city enjoys the 4,855-meter-high mountains as a scenic backdrop.
